MORE ABOUT MIKE

Mike Gronstal, from Council Bluffs, has been the Senate Democratic Leader since 1997. First elected to office in 1982, Gronstal served one term in the Iowa House (1983-85), and is currently in his seventh term in the Senate. He is the State Democratic Leader in the Iowa Senate and has been a lifelong advocate for public education and smart politics.

We are fortunate to have Mike Gronstal represent us, our students, our schools and our profession. In the current political climate it is vital that you understand that we need YOU. Your time, your talent, and--eventually--your treasure will be needed to make sure that we reverse the trend of legislators who are willing to sell out our children for corporate tax cuts.

  • 8/10/08 – (SD 20) Randy Braden’s Campaign will be canvassing in Tama from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. They will be meeting in front of City Hall in Tama (305 Segal St.)
  • 8/16/08 – (SD 42) Senator Frank Wood’s campaign will be canvassing Dewitt from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. The meeting place is TBA
  • 8/16/08 – Sharon Savage’s campaign will be knocking on doors in West Branch from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. They will be meeting at the park on Main St.
  • 8/16/08 – (SD 16) Senator Tom Hancock’s campaign will be knocking doors on Saturday, August 16th in Dyersville from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The meeting place is TBA
  • 8/17/08 – (SD 8) Mary Jo Wilehlm’s campaign will be knocking doors in Waukon from 2:00 – 6:00 pm. They will be meeting at the Waukon City Park.
  • 8/17/08 – (SD 22) Steve Sodders campaign will be canvassing Iowa Falls on Sunday, August 17th from 1 – 4 pm. The campaign will be meeting at Hardin County Democratic headquarters.
  • 8/23/08 – (SD 22) Steve Sodders’ campaign will be canvassing in Marshalltown on Saturday, August 23rd from 1 – 5 pm. The meeting place for this canvass will at the Marshall County Democrats office at 12 W. Main St.
  • 8/23/08 – (SD 8) Mary Jo Wilhelm’s campaign will be canvassing New Hampton from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. The meeting place is TBA.
  • 8/23/08 – Sharon Savage’s campaign will be knocking doors in Wilton from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. They will be meeting at the park on Main St.
  • 8/24/08 – Randy Braden’s campaign will be canvassing in Grundy Center from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. The meeting place is TBA.
  • 8/24/08 – (SD 42) Senator Frank Wood’s campaign will be knocking doors in Davenport from 1:00 – 5:00 pm. The meeting place is TBA.
